Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Policy

Effective Date: September 29, 2026 Applicability: All employees, independent contractors, guest artists, volunteers, and Union Members (AEA, AFM, IATSE, etc.) members at Bourgoin Productions.

1. Statement of Policy and Commitment

Bourgoin Productions is committed to providing a safe, equitable, and inclusive work environment free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying. We strictly prohibit discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.

2. Scope and Distribution

This policy applies to all workplace environments, including rehearsals, performances, auditions, company events, and any off-site work-related activities. Bourgoin Productions ensures that this policy is actively publicized and distributed to all employees and Equity members.

3. Definitions

  • Discrimination: Any adverse action or unequal treatment in employment decisions (such as hiring, firing, casting, promotions, or compensation) based on a protected characteristic.

  • Harassment: Unwelcome conduct based on a protected characteristic that creates a work environment that a reasonable person would consider intimidating, hostile, or abusive.

  • Sexual Harassment: Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that affects an individual's employment, unreasonably interferes with their work performance, or creates a hostile work environment.

4. Multiple Paths for Reporting

We recognize that reporting harassment or discrimination can be difficult. To ensure everyone has a comfortable avenue to report incidents, Bourgoin Productions provides multiple clear paths for reporting. You may report an incident using any of the following channels:

  1. Direct Supervisor / Stage Management: You may report the incident to your direct supervisor, Department Head, or the Production Stage Manager.

  2. Company Management / Human Resources: You may bypass your direct supervisor and report directly to Company Management or the designated Human Resources representative at admin@bourgoinproductions.com

  3. Actors' Equity Association: Equity members may contact their Equity Business Representative or utilize the Equity reporting portal to report incidents of harassment or discrimination.

  4. Anonymous Reporting: A secure, anonymous reporting form is available at THIS LINK for anyone who wishes to report an issue without revealing their identity.

5. Commitment to Remedial Action

Bourgoin Productions is committed to acting promptly on all reports. Upon receiving a complaint, we will conduct a fair, timely, and thorough investigation led by impartial personnel. Confidentiality will be maintained to the greatest extent possible.

If an investigation reveals that a violation of this policy has occurred, Bourgoin Productions will take immediate and appropriate remedial action. Depending on the severity of the offense, corrective actions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Mandatory training or counseling

  • Verbal or written warnings

  • Reassignment or suspension

  • Immediate termination of employment or contract

6. Strict Non-Retaliation Policy

Bourgoin Productions strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against any individual who, in good faith, reports an incident of discrimination or harassment, participates in an investigation, or advocates for themselves or others. Any employee found to have engaged in retaliatory behavior will be subject to severe disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination.
